Every branded document the platform produces (order confirmations, tax invoices, quotes, purchase orders, SDS packs) is rendered here instead of posted to a mail service. The customer's copy is exactly this, and nothing leaves the platform.

Why the outbox is in the app

A mail provider is a dependency that can fail on a Friday afternoon, and a demo that needs an API key is a demo that breaks. Documents are generated in the worker and filed here; wiring a real send is a one-line change at go-live, and until then every "send" in this build genuinely produces the artefact you are looking at.
