A site wants delivery on a day it does not run
Can we deliver on a different day?
Every site has standing run days. Off-run delivery pulls a vehicle off the sheet and costs about $380 by the time you count the driver.
The usual answer is to move the delivery to the site's next run day, which validation will offer. Most requests come from somebody who does not know the run days rather than somebody who needs it that day.
If it genuinely cannot wait, it is a decision with a cost attached rather than a scheduling detail, so make it deliberately.
What to do
- 1 Check the site's run days on its record.
- 2 Move the delivery to the next run day, which puts it on that day's branch run automatically.
- 3 If it must go off-run, record who approved it.
