Dilution rates and contact time
How much do I dilute this, and how long does it need to sit?
Dilution is on the label and on the sheet. Contact time is the part people skip, and it is the part that decides whether a disinfectant did anything at all.
A hospital-grade disinfectant that is wiped off before its contact time has elapsed has not disinfected. For most of the range that is a matter of minutes, and it is on the product's own documentation.
Under-dilution wastes money and can damage surfaces. Over-dilution is worse, because the site believes it is protected and is not. This is the single most common thing a customer asks a rep, so it is worth being able to answer it precisely rather than approximately.
Where a site is on a dosing system, the dilution is set at the unit and should not be changed at the bucket. If a site is getting inconsistent results, check the dosing unit before changing anything else.
